At America’s beverage companies, we’re carefully designing our bottles and cans to be 100% recyclable. And we’re investing in Ohio communities, so more of our cans and bottles can be collected and made into new ones as intended.
Our Impact
Pleasant Township and Whitehall
Every Bottle Back Project
Low recycling rates challenged Whitehall and Pleasant Township. We invested $109,000 to provide new, upgraded recycling carts to 7,756 households, which captured 1.1 million pounds of new recycled materials in the first year.
Clyde
Every Bottle Back Project
To help process more recycled PET (rPET) plastic into food-grade pellets used to manufacture new bottles, we invested $2.5 million in Evergreen, a local plastic reclaimer and rPET manufacturing facility.
Columbus
Every Bottle Back Project
Columbus was changing its collection schedule to maximize materials collected. Our $231,000 investment provided direct-to-resident flyers about service changes and what and when to recycle.
Cincinnati
Every Bottle Back Project
The Rumpke sorting facility in Cincinnati sought to upgrade its sorting and processing technologies to increase PET plastic recovery. We invested $150,000 to upgrade two optical sorters so more recyclables are properly sorted to be remade.
